DISCOVER is a talent development project which opens up sustainable employment within music industry careers for the 18-25s. The project offers a paid work placement, and a programme of training, all focussed around the delivery of a short series of “in-session” performance videos.

Who is it for?

Discover is there to support those aged 18-25 looking to establish, or further a career in the music industry. The project is particularly suited to those based in, or around, Dumfries in South-West Scotland.

How does it all work?

Two successful applicants will join the team at Circa 16 Sound Recording to make up the DISCOVER team. They will curate, and deliver six “in-session” performance videos. The successful applicants will lead on the project with support from the studio’s experienced staff, and will select the artists to perform, design the “look and feel” of the production, book in and schedule the suppliers and partners needed, complete the video recording/sound recording for the work and drive the release and marketing of the completed video content through the studio’s channels. Alongside this work, the applicant will also undertake training and professional development sessions throughout. These sessions will be delivered by professionals working in content creation, audio and video production, digital marketing and branding nationwide.
